Injectable Wrinkle Reducers (Botox)

We are experts on the use of neuromodulators. We have been using neuromodulators for 8+ years and have taught many new physicians on the technique of proper injection.

Neuromodulators are prescription medicines that are injected into muscles and are used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), forehead, around eyes (crow’s feet), and mouth.

Botox is a type of neuromodulator that is used to temporarily paralyze muscles by blocking the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (involved in muscle contraction). This is why botox is often used for cosmetic purposes to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or for medical purposes including muscle spasms, migraines, or excessive sweating.

Injection of these medicines into small muscles temporarily paralyzes those muscles, thereby improving the appearance of wrinkles. This paralysis is temporary, and re-injection is generally necessary within 3 to 4 months to maintain benefit. This treatment is incredibly effective at reducing the prominence of dynamic skin lines.

Instructions For Botox Treatment

Instructions before treatment:
Avoid alcoholic beverages and anti–inflammatory medications, especially aspirin, before treatment. Schedule an appointment at least two weeks prior to any special events to allow time to heal.

Instructions after treatment:
Treat any mild discomfort with Tylenol, and expect temporary swelling. Do not massage the treated areas because it may move the injection around and create a different effect. It is generally recommended to remain upright for four hours after injections and avoid aerobic activity for a few hours.

How Are Wrinkle Relaxer Injections Administered?

These wrinkle relaxers are delivered by injection and do not require a hospital setting. It is virtually painless, and there is no recovery time.

What Should I Expect During and After a Wrinkle Relaxer Treatment?

There may be, at most, mild discomfort when we administer the injections and some slight bruising may appear in the few days after the treatment. This can be easily covered with makeup. It is possible to return to work immediately after your treatment.

Who is a candidate for these muscle relaxer injections?

Candidates for the popular brands of muscle relaxer injections we administer are age eighteen and older, interested in improving the appearance of their face. Many candidates are seeking relief from wrinkles and brow furrows, and looking to achieve a more rested, relaxed appearance.
