Enlighten™ is a picosecond laser system used for the removal of tattoos and benign pigmented lesions.
Enlighten™ uses ultra-short, high-power picosecond pulses to break up tattoo ink particles. A picosecond is one-trillionth of a second—much shorter than the nanosecond pulses used in older laser systems. These shorter pulses can improve ink clearance and may reduce the number of sessions needed for some tattoos.
The number of treatments varies based on ink color, depth, tattoo size, and ink composition. Most patients should expect multiple sessions, since tattoo ink sits deep in the skin and is cleared gradually over time. Your provider will give you a more specific estimate during consultation and as treatment progresses.
