DR. VLADA GROYSMAN
Vlada Groysman, M.D. is the founder and Medical Director of Cahaba Dermatology & Skin Health Center. She is a Board Certified Dermatologist and a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Groysman specializes in medical, surgical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology for adults, adolescents, and children. Dr. Groysman has a special passion for women’s health dermatology. She is proud to be the only Vulvar Dermatologist within the state of Alabama.
Dr. Groysman completed a three year residency in dermatology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and became Board Certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology. She worked as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Alabama Department of Dermatology where she served as Director of the Women’s Health Clinic with subspecialties in mucosal disorders, rosacea and dermatologic disease of pregnancy. Dr. Groysman led a team of expert physicians, residents and medical students in providing outstanding and comprehensive care in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.
She currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she is involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents at the VA Hospital in Birmingham. Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Groysman enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, reading, and cooking.

Kaitlyn Parker
Kaitlyn Parker is a Certified Physician Assistant at Cahaba Dermatology and Skin Health Center. She is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the Alabama Society of Dermatology Professionals, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Kaitlyn graduated with honors from the University of Alabama with undergraduate degrees in Human Development and Biology and completed her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Alabama.
Kaitlyn loves treating the dermatological needs of her patients of all ages, and she especially enjoys treating children. Prior to becoming a physician assistant, Kaitlyn taught high school biology, and she now carries her passion for teaching into patient care. Kaitlyn is excited to have the opportunity to educate all of her patients about how they can achieve their healthiest and most beautiful skin.
Outside of dermatology, Kaitlyn enjoys spending time at home with her husband, Matt, and cat, Sara. She also loves spending time on the water, reading, and occasionally binge-watching shows on Netflix. She looks forward to seeing you in the office soon!

Kathryn Guilbeau
Kathryn Guilbeau is a Certified Physician Assistant at Cahaba Dermatology and Skin Health Center. She received her undergraduate degree in Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Alabama then went on to receive her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Kathryn specializes in medical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology. She works closely with our team of doctors in facilitating high quality patient care, including diagnosing and treating various dermatological conditions, in addition to performing various procedures. Kathryn loves to develop relationships with her patients and follow with them on their journey to achieving and maintaining the healthiest skin possible. Outside of her career, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, eating Cajun food, reading books, and playing pickle ball.
Justin Perry
Justin Perry, CRNP, is a Board-Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and a proud member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Justin specializes in medical dermatology for adults, adolescents, and children, as well as Clinical Research for the development of new treatment options for Chronic Skin Conditions. Justin has a special passion for helping patients find a treatment regimen when they have exhausted all other conventional treatment methods, via clinical research studies. He is proud to have been a part of conducting clinical trials that have brought us new treatments such as ruxolitinib and tapinarof.
Justin completed a 2-year program in Adult and Geriatric Acute Care Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and became Board Certified Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Prior to completing his degree, he worked as a Registered Nurse in the Pulmonary and Critical ICU at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he served as unit charge nurse and as a wound care expert. Justin also received the Daisy Award, which recognizes extraordinary and compassionate care being provided by a nurse to patients and their family members.
He currently serves as a Sub-Investigator here at Cahaba Dermatology and is involved in 30+ clinical trials that will help provide much needed research to establish new treatment modalities for many of the Chronic skin conditions we treat here, including Atopic Dermatitis, Psoriasis, and Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Outside of practicing and research, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and traveling to new places.

Elizabeth Smith, PA-C
Elizabeth Smith, PA-C is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant trained in Dermatology to diagnose and treat skin conditions in all ages. She is proficient in complete skin exams, diagnosing skin cancer, treatment of precancerous and cancerous lesions, diagnosing and treating acne, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, sensitive skin/eczema, urticaria, psoriasis, hair loss, and more.
Elizabeth also specializes in lasers and radiofrequency microneedling. Specifically, she is well-versed in IPL, ResurFx, LaseMD Ultra, Keralase, GeniusRF, Sofwave, ExcelV, eMatrix, Enlighten and Profound. Elizabeth will help find the right solution for you, whether your concern be dark spots/pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture, tattoo removal, broken blood vessels, and more.
Elizabeth is from Birmingham, AL. She attended the University of Alabama for her Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences followed by a Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies from UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham).
She is a member of SDPA (Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants) and ASDP (Alabama Society of Dermatology Professionals). She has completed the SDPA Diplomate Fellowship in Dermatology.
Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband (Warren), son (Walker), and two dogs (Wilson and Gizmo). She also enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, and traveling.

Malia Downing, MD, FAAD
Dr. Malia Downing is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs and Cosmetic surgeon. She was raised in Hawaii and received her undergraduate degree from the College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, MN where she played collegiate soccer and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She was awarded her medical doctorate from the University of North Dakota, graduating second in her class. Upon completing medical school, she moved to Kansas City, KS where she did her medical internship and dermatology residency at the University of Kansas. Dr. Downing completed her fellowship training in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology and Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery at Surgical Dermatology Group in Birmingham, Al. She received advanced training in the management of skin cancers and reconstructive techniques. She has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented at national conferences. She also regularly volunteered at the KC Health Center, providing dermatologic care to uninsured patients. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American College of Mohs Surgery, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. In her free time, Dr. Downing enjoys scuba diving, spear fishing, hiking, skiing, working on her family's farm in Hawaii, and spending time with her husband, son, and dogs.
