Feel More Comfortable with Targeted Hyperhidrosis Treatment

Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, is a common medical condition that can negatively affect your quality of life. If you’re applying and reapplying antiperspirants 5-12 times a day, sweating through multiple items of clothing, wearing only black or white clothing, or declining public event opportunities solely because of their underarm sweating, we’ve got a solution for you.

Treating Hyperhidrosis with miraDry®

When choosing treatment for excessive sweating, you have several options. You may have heard of heavier-duty antiperspirants like DrySol, neuromodulator injections, iontophoresis, and even surgery to help reduce sweating. While these approaches can be effective for some patients, they often involve ongoing treatments, discomfort, or invasiveness.

That’s why many patients choose miraDry®. Compared to other options, miraDry® is the least painful, least invasive, and most effective solution, especially for underarm sweat. If you’re ready for a long-lasting treatment that can make embarrassing sweat a thing of the past, let’s talk.

How miraDry® Works

The miraDry® procedure is non-invasive, non-surgical and administered with an electrical handpiece. When placed on the underarm, it delivers precisely controlled energy to the region where the sweat glands reside and eliminates them on site. The sweat glands don’t grow back once eliminated, resulting in a dramatic and lasting reduction of underarm sweat.

Local anesthesia is administered to the underarms prior to the procedure to maintain comfort. Your office visit appointment will generally last about an hour, and two procedures spaced three months apart are required for the best results.

But you may be asking yourself: don’t I need my underarm sweat glands? Surprisingly, no! Your body contains over 4 million sweat glands, with only about 2% located in the underarms. Eliminating this 2% will not affect the body’s ability to cool itself or its ability to release toxins.

What Results Can Be Expected?

Most patients report a dramatic and immediate reduction in sweat—in a recent clinical study, the average sweat reduction was 82%. But as with any medical procedure, results will vary from person to person.

And as for recovery and side effects, there is minimal to no downtime following the procedure. Your doctor will likely recommend a mild over-the-counter pain medication and use of ice packs for a few days. You should be able to return to normal activities or work right after the procedure, and you can typically resume exercise within 10-14 days.

How long will the results last?

The results are lasting because the sweat glands do not come back or regenerate after they have been eliminated. The miraDry procedure uses a safe, non-invasive technology that is FDA cleared to eliminate sweat glands in the underarm.

What happens after the procedure?

There is minimal to no downtime following the procedure. Your doctor will likely recommend a mild over-the-counter pain medication and use of ice packs for a few days. You should be able to return to normal activities or work right after the procedure, and you can typically resume exercise within 10-14 days.

How is the miraDry® procedure different from other treatment options?

Other treatment options are designed to temporarily disable the sweat glands, or involve surgery which contains inherent risks. Only the miraDry procedure provides a lasting solution with a non-invasive treatment. The procedure is not reimbursed by insurance.
